Skin Care:

Citrus is considered ideal food for healthy skin. It is rich in Vitamin C and has a wide array of anti oxidants. Helps keep the skin looking young.

Bone Health:

Calcium and Vitamin D are essential for bone health. Our body is able to absorb calcium and Vitamin D from Orange juice, which is also famous for it’s abundance of Vitamin C.

Citrus peel contains beneficial compounds which lower cholesterol, balance blood sugar, and activate liver detoxification. Orange peel is very effective in lowering cholesterol, and without side effects.

Culinary Uses.

Slivers of yuzu peel, or dried, crumbled peel, add fragrance to Japanese soups. Dried tangerine peel is used for both Sichuan and Hunan. It is soaked in warm water for fifteen minutes and chopped finely for stir fried dishes or used whole in rich dishes of pork or duck.

In the Gulf States lime powder is used in fish, poultry and lamb stews. Iranian’s prefer herbs like cilantro, parsley, fenugreek, and green vegetables in their lime scented dishes, often the juice and rind are added to stew. Citrus fruits are universal providers of tartness in the kitchen.
