Health Benefits of Olives.

Olive oil is famous, but people seem to forget the little fruit which produces the olive oil. Olives are an ancient fruit and olives have been around for more than 3000 years, particularly in the Mediterranean. The ancient fermentation techniques that were used to produce healthy foods like sauerkraut, olives and miso have all too often been replaced by fast, commercial techniques that don’t yield nearly as healthy a product.

Olive is nature’s herbal medicine.
Olives have a high percentage of fat content of 15 to 35 percent, they are an excellent source of oleic acid ( Omega-9 fatty acid). Since olives contain mixed tocopherois, they are also a good source of vitamin E. Olive compounds contain many unique phenolic and aromatic compounds, including oleuroperin and flavonoids. The Mediterranean area consumes large amounts of olive oil and has a lower risk of developing diabetes, atheroscierosis, and colon cancer.

If you are choosing fats, olive oil is a healthy choice. Olive oil contains monounsaturated fat, this is a healthier type of fat that can lower the risk of heart disease, by reducing the bad cholesterol levels in your blood. Food and Drug Administration recommends that two table spoons of olive oil a day may reduce your risk of heart disease.

Powerful Herbal Medicine.
